Resume Guide
Signaling Leadership Scope Without a Big Title
The Leadership score is not about headcount. It rewards influence: how many people, teams, and decisions moved because of you. Individual contributors can score high here.
Make your scope legible
State the surface area: "Led a pod of 6 engineers and 2 designers," or "Coordinated 3 teams across a shared launch." Numbers of people and teams anchor the reader.
Show influence without authority
- Aligning stakeholders who did not report to you.
- Setting a direction others followed: "Introduced a prioritization framework the whole PM team adopted."
- Mentoring: "Onboarded and ramped 2 APMs."
Own outcomes, not activities
"Facilitated meetings" is coordination. "Drove the alignment that unblocked a delayed launch" is leadership. Same room — different framing.
Checklist
- A bullet naming the size of the team or pod you led or influenced.
- One example of cross-team alignment you drove.
- Evidence of raising the bar for others (a framework, a hire, a mentee).
