Privacy policy

How MasterStack collects, uses, protects, and deletes your information.

This Privacy Policy explains how MasterStack (“MasterStack”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects your information when you use masterstack.ai, the PM Resume Analyzer, and our related services (the “Service”). Information we collect

  • Resume content. When you use the Resume Analyzer you upload a PDF or DOCX file. We store the file and the text extracted from it so we can score it and show you your report.
  • Contact details. If you choose to save or receive your report, or you create an account, we collect your email address and, for registered users, your name.
  • Payment information. When you buy a paid plan or event, our payment providers (Razorpay for India, PayPal for international) process your payment. We never see or store your full card, bank, or UPI details — we retain only a payment reference, the amount, and the plan purchased.
  • Usage and technical data. We record limited technical data such as pages viewed and anonymous funnel events (for example, that an analysis was started). To enforce our free-tier limits fairly we store a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address — never the address itself.

How we use your information

  • To run the Resume Analyzer and generate your scores, insights, and reports.
  • To deliver paid plans, including human coaching sessions and deliverables for Expert and Career Accelerator.
  • To take payment, issue receipts, and handle refunds.
  • To send transactional email you ask for, such as your saved report or a password reset.
  • To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse of the free tier, diagnose errors, and understand where users drop off so we can improve.

Our legal basis

We process your information to perform our contract with you (delivering the Service you request), with your consent (for example, when you give us your email to receive a report), and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your data as described below.

AI processing of your resume

To score your resume, its text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes it to generate your analysis and returns the result to us. Your resume is used to produce your report only. We do not sell your resume, and we do not use it to train AI models.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed:

  • Anthropic — AI resume scoring.
  • Razorpay and PayPal — payment processing.
  • Calendly — scheduling your 1-1 coaching sessions.
  • Our email provider — sending the transactional email you request.
  • Our hosting provider — running the application and database.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you. We do not sell your personal information.

Cross-border transfers

Some of our providers process data outside India. Where that happens we rely on the provider’s contractual safeguards to protect your information to a standard consistent with this Policy.

How long we keep your data

We keep resume files, extracted text, and their analyses for up to one year, after which they are automatically purged. You can delete your data at any time before then — see “Your rights”. Where you have made a purchase, we retain the transaction record (payment reference, amount, plan, and date) for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after your personal content is deleted.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal data. From your dashboard, “Delete my data” permanently removes your resumes, analyses, reports, and profile. If you have purchased a plan, we anonymize your profile and remove your personal content while keeping the financial record required by law. You may also contact us to exercise any right you have under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Cookies and sessions

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to run the free analyzer without an account. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and private, access-checked storage for uploaded files. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

Children

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
