The PM Resume Blueprint
A great PM resume is not creative — it is predictable in the best way. Reviewers know where to look, and everything they want is there. This is the structure that works.
Order of sections
- Header — name, a one-line title ("Senior PM · Fintech · Growth"), email, LinkedIn.
- Summary (optional, 2 lines) — only if it adds positioning, not fluff.
- Experience — reverse chronological, the bulk of the page.
- Skills — tools and methods, scannable.
- Education — brief, at the bottom.
Inside each role
One line of context (what the company or team does and your scope), then 3 to 5 outcome bullets. Lead with your biggest result, not your earliest task.
Length and density
- One page under roughly 8 years of experience; two pages maximum beyond that.
- White space is a feature — dense walls of text get skimmed and dropped.
- Every line should earn its place. If it could be on anyone's resume, cut it.
Nail the structure first; strong bullets in a messy layout still get lost.
