Resume Guide
Demonstrating Execution & Delivery
Execution is where many strategy-heavy resumes quietly fail: lots of vision, little evidence of shipping. Reviewers want proof you take things across the line.
Show cadence and delivery
Quantify throughput: "Shipped 12 releases in two quarters," or "Cut cycle time from 6 to 3 weeks." Numbers on delivery signal that you finish, not just plan.
Own the hard parts
- Name a launch you drove end to end, including the unglamorous work (migration, rollout, incident).
- Show you unblocked, not just assigned: "Resolved a data dependency that had stalled the team for a month."
Avoid the PM-as-scribe trap
"Wrote PRDs and ran standups" describes coordination, not impact. Reframe around what shipped and what it changed: "Turned a stalled initiative into a shipped feature adopted by 45% of users."
Checklist
- A throughput or cycle-time number.
- One end-to-end launch you owned.
- An example of removing a blocker, not just tracking one.
