Resume Guide
Communicating Impact Clearly
The Communication score reflects how easily an outsider understands your work. Reviewers read fast and out of context; clarity is a competitive advantage.
Write for someone outside your company
Cut internal codenames and jargon. "Owned Project Falcon" means nothing externally; "Owned the fraud-detection platform" is instantly clear.
One idea per bullet
- Lead with the outcome, then the how.
- Keep each line to a single, scannable thought — if you need "and," consider two bullets.
- Prefer concrete nouns and strong verbs over adjectives.
Be consistent
Consistent tense, formatting, and metric style make the whole resume feel senior. Past roles in past tense, current role in present; numbers formatted the same way throughout.
Checklist
- No unexplained internal names or acronyms.
- Every bullet leads with the result.
- Consistent tense and number formatting top to bottom.
