The AI-Ready PM: Showing AI Fluency
The AI Readiness score reflects a fast-moving expectation: modern PMs use AI to work faster and ship AI-powered products. You do not need to be an ML engineer — you need to show applied fluency.
Two kinds of AI signal
- AI in how you work — using AI for research synthesis, drafting specs, analysis, or prototyping. "Used LLM-assisted synthesis to cut research turnaround from days to hours."
- AI in what you ship — shipping features powered by ML or LLMs. "Launched an AI summarization feature adopted by 40% of users in month one."
Show judgment, not hype
Reviewers value PMs who know AI's limits: "Scoped an AI feature to a human-in-the-loop flow to manage accuracy risk." That reads as maturity, not a buzzword.
Keep it honest
Only claim what you did. A single genuine AI bullet beats a paragraph of trend-speak — and it will hold up in the interview.
Checklist
- One bullet on using AI in your own workflow.
- If applicable, one on an AI-powered feature you shipped.
- A note of judgment about accuracy, cost, or risk.
